From: Ageing results in an exacerbated inflammatory response to LPS by resident lung cells

Cytokines and chemokines produced in the airways of young and aged mice following LPS challenge. Young and aged mice were challenged intranasally with 100ng LPS or PBS vehicle only. After 4 h, bronchoalveolar lavage was performed and cytokines and chemokines were measured by ELISA in BAL fluid supernatant. Each data point represents an individual mouse and bars show mean +/- SEM. Filled circles = young and open circles = aged mice. Data are representative of two independent experiments. The lower limit of detection is shown as a dotted line.
